Miscellaneous manuscripts, 1814-1818.

Consists of two photocopies of letters from Robert Maskell Patterson: one dated 15 July 1814 to the Trustees of the University of Pennsylvania, concerning discipline among the students; and one dated 29 September 1818 to the Rt. Rev. Dr. White, advising the Trustees to abandon the grammar school in order to enhance the reputation of the University.

Robert Maskell Patterson was a professor of natural philosophy at the University of Pennsylvania and director of the U.S. Mint.
